ANTIBIOTICS

         

These products inhibit protein synthesis. This group includes products such as streptomycin, and kasugamycin polyoxina. These compounds were among the first to be developed in agriculture action specified, and as such, soon microorganisms developed resistance to them.

Streptomycin, controls many bacterial diseases of plants in foliar sprays. Also used in treating seeds, especially seeds of bean and potato tubers. Kasugamycin, is a product with preventive and curative properties and controls a large number of pathogens like oryzoe Pyricularia, Pseudomonas and Septoria, among others. Polyoxina, is used to control Rhizoctonia solani in rice, Alternaria, Botrytis, Sclerotinia, spots and leaf blight, and mildius dusty, among others.
